Saving water

Here you'll find tools, tips and case studies to help you start saving water across your business.

Water may be regarded as a low-cost resource, however it is often very easy to save money through low-cost water reduction measures. Most businesses in Ireland should now have a water meter (rather than just paying through the rates) and hence will see the benefits of saving water.

You can start making savings straight away through some low-cost improvements - take a look at some of the Top Tips using the link below.

You will save more money by taking a more systematic approach. You can track your water use using our water audit and value estimator (WAVE, below) tool - and then request a site visit from Green Business.

Businesses can install innovative technology to save water and money to boot.
NN Euroball (a manufacturer of high-precision steel balls in Kilkenny) has installed a vacuum pump evaporation unit which recycles up to 90% of the hazardous wastewater generated on its site. The pump not only converts the hazardous wastewater stream into a valuable, reusable resource, but reduces the volume of mains water required - saving NN Euroball at least €162,000 a year!
