This Resource Efficiency Opportunity assessment outlines the potential benefits to a medical devices company of using Greenbusiness to help manage their resources more efficiently. The site visit identified a range of recommendations with good associated potential benefits, including:

• total cost savings estimated to be €50,000
• diversion of waste from landfill by segregating plastic waste from process and raw materials packaging for recycling
• reduced energy use by introduction of energy efficient lighting
• reduced resource use by redesign of primary packaging.

In addition, potential opportunities to reduce water use and improve transport efficiency were identified.
